Brittany Edwards Earns womenwinning Endorsement

Organization Supports Edwards’ Candidacy for House District 46A

Medicine Lake, Minn. – Brittany Edwards, candidate for House District 46A, today announced she has earned the endorsement of womenwinning, the largest and most influential statewide pro-choice women’s PAC in Minnesota. The endorsement comes ahead of the March 11 DFL endorsing convention.

“I am honored to earn the support of womenwinning,” Edwards said. “My campaign is focused on bringing more voices and community members into the political process and womenwinning embodies that commitment. I look forward to continuing to speak with voters about how we can work together to lift up everyone’s voices at the State Capitol.”

In October, Brittany Edwards announced her candidacy for the Minnesota House of Representatives District 46A, which includes portions of Saint Louis Park, Golden Valley, Plymouth, and all of Medicine Lake. Since then, she has built a diverse and powerful coalition of grassroots support throughout the district.

“Brittany Edwards is the kind of leader that we need in the State House and womenwinning is proud to support her candidacy,” said womenwinning Executive Director, Lauren Beecham. “Brittany has dedicated her career to public service and is a steadfast champion for women and families. We look forward to working with Brittany as she grows her campaign and works toward victory in November.”

Brittany Edwards grew up in Plymouth, Minnetonka, and South Haven, MN, and lived at and graduated from the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley. Today, she lives in Medicine Lake. Edwards got her start in politics at age ten, when she fought to keep local access to a community baseball field. Since then, she has dedicated her career to positions in government and the nonprofit sector. Her experience includes positions at Hennepin County, the University of Minnesota, and the Minnesota State Senate. Edwards has also worked with many local organizations as a communications and nonprofit consultant and organizer.

Edwards earned a master of arts in educational administration and a master of public policy from the University of Minnesota, and she completed her bachelor’s degree at Kalamazoo College. From 2005-2006, Edwards served in the Peace Corps in Honduras. In Peace Corps she worked with farm unions on micro-lending, environmental, and health projects, and taught seventh and eighth grade.

Edwards is seeking the DFL endorsement at the March 11 endorsing convention.
